2 easy ways to help older people

Choose your way of supporting Age UK and help us be there for older people like Jim

Even before coronavirus restrictions hit, Jim felt chronically lonely and he struggled to get out and about due to health issues. When lockdown came he felt like the walls were closing in, and when he looked out of the window he barely saw anyone. Jim had no one to call on for support, no family or friends to rely on.

The good news is that Jim called on Age UK. Now, once a week, he receives a regular call from our Telephone Friendship Service. Having a chat, sharing stories and a joke with someone makes Jim feel like he's connected with the world again.

4 out of 10 older people aged 65 and over say that they have often or sometimes felt lonely.

A donation of £10 today could help pay for two befriending calls.
