Over-the-phone guidance to help you get online and make the most of your laptop, ipad or smartphone

We understand that for some older people, knowing where to start with technology can be daunting.  However building your IT confidence and learning how to use your device can enable you to more easily keep in touch with family and friends, as well as connect with new people, such as our online Springboard Facebook Group

Our Digital Connections volunteers can help you get friendly with your laptop, ipad or smartphone so you can operate it confidently and safely.  All our help is provided over the phone or online, as is necessary in the current environment and our volunteers will patiently guide you through learning how to make the most of your device.

How to access Digital Connections

Our volunteers would like to help as many people as possible, but there are a few things which need to be in place first:

  • You must have internet connection and your own device (laptop, ipad or smartphone)
  • You will need to be able to talk to us over the phone or online (we are unable to visit anyone at home)
  • We will need to ask some questions first in order to establish if we are able to provide the specific support you need, over the phone or online
  • You must be over the age of 50 and living in Gloucestershire
