Calling all crafters

Craft kindness and make a difference this wintertime

Gloucestershire is home to some incredible crafty people. The old, the young and all in between are knitting, crocheting and sewing like crazy. So why not get involved and help support the older people in our county?

This winter, we're seeking handcrafted gifts to spread winter warmth on our eBay Shop. If you're a keen crafter and can dedicated some time to creating one of the items below, we'd love to hear from you. All items must be brand new handcrafted quality items.

• gloves, hats, scarves
• socks and handwarmers
• hot water bottle covers
• cushion covers
• blankets
• twiddle muffs

Please send your lovingly crafted items to Age UK Gloucestershire, Henley House, Barnett Way, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3RT.

We'll then conduct a quick quality check and upload them onto our eBay Shop ready for purchase. All proceeds from sales go towards the vital work our Help Team conducts out in the community, supporting older people in need. 

Wondering what a twiddle muff is? People with dementia sometimes have restless hands. A twiddle muff can help keep their hands occupied, providing a source of visual, tactile and sensory stimulation whilst keeping hands warm. If you craft a twiddle muff, we may use it as part of our Dementia Diagnosis and Memory Support service.
