Awaiting or receiving a dementia diagnosis can be a very daunting and frightening time. Our Dementia Information & Advice Service is here to support those over 50 years, as well as family members and carers.

Who we can support

Our dedicated Dementia Information and Advice Service is able to support:

• People who are age 50-65 years with a diagnosis of Young Onset Dementia (YOD) or under investigation for Young Onset Dementia, their family, friends and carers

• People age 65 years+ who have been diagnosed with dementia within the last 12 months or are awaiting a potential dementia diagnosis, along with their family, friends and carers.

Dementia Information and Advice Service

We will help support you, your family and carers access information, advice and guidance including:
• Information about dementia
• The diagnosis pathway
• How to remain in work
• How to maintain your activities including your hobbies and volunteering
• How to remain healthy
• Where to access support groups for people
• Offer support to family members and carers
• Advise on the financial implications & offer benefits advice, including support completing benefit applications
• Forward planning advice
• Social Care advice for now and in the future
• How to take care of yourself or your loved one and remove the
• Offer regular phone calls to provide advice, support and a listening ear
• Offer advice around how to remain independent including advice around assistive technology
• Signpost to face-to-face support within the community.
