Responsible to: Lead Trainer

Hours: Self Employed – Flexible by arrangement normally between the hours of 9-5 Monday – Friday.

Location: Malvern Gate and other locations

Hourly Rate: £20 per hour for teaching time. All other activity will be paid at £10.42 per hour.

 

JOB PURPOSE AND ROLE:      

To deliver training to a variety of health and social care customers, internally and externally, using a blended learning approach which is responsive  to the  knowledge, skills and experience of delegates. This will include the delivery of mandatory training courses within a classroom / group-based environment and live online training within their area of competence.

The role will require delivering on site training to external customers across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Warwickshire and into other areas when necessary. Therefore, travel will be an expectation of the position, so a full driving licence and being comfortable with travel is a must.

 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. To research, develop and update training programmes, as requested by the Learning & Development Service.
  2. To plan and prepare training sessions, including creating teaching materials.
  3. To facilitate the training of learners on an individual or group basis.
  4. To check and assess learners work give feedback and assess delegates understanding.
  5. To attend virtual and face-to-face meetings with colleagues and customers as requested.
  6. Develop contacts and productive working relationships with team members, colleagues and students.
  7. To work within the systems developed to record statistics and information required for monitoring and evaluation of the Training Service.
  8. To participate in peer review and appropriate CPD activities to ensure knowledge and skills remain current.
  9. Undertake other duties requested by the Organisation commensurate with the role

Skills and Experience required:

  1. Training planning and delivery skills and experience
  2. Recognised teaching/training qualification
  3. Health or social care experience
  4. Knowledge & understanding of voluntary and statutory organisations
  5. Knowledge of relevant legislation
  6. Strong communication skills
  7. IT skills
  8. Enhanced CRB required

 

Course Delivery required:

  • Moving and Handling
  • First Aid Basic Life Support
  • Medication Management
  • Dementia Awareness
