Dementia Daybreak – Hythe Hub: Support, Connection & Meaningful Moments

Published on 01 December 2025 02:45 PM

Living well with dementia is absolutely possible, especially with the right support, understanding, and opportunities for connection. At Age UK Hythe, our Dementia Daybreak – Hythe Hub offers a safe, uplifting, and welcoming space where individuals can enjoy activities, companionship, and purposeful moments in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Running every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 3:00pm, Dementia Daybreak is based at Sanford House, Stade Street, Hythe, Kent, CT21 6BD. Each session costs £52, and is carefully designed to support the wellbeing of those living with dementia while offering families and carers valuable peace of mind.

A Safe Space Filled With Warmth, Respect and Joy

For many families, finding the right dementia support service can feel overwhelming. At Dementia Daybreak, our focus is on creating a place where people feel accepted, included, and truly valued. Every session is shaped around gentle structure, meaningful engagement, and the understanding that everyone’s needs are unique.

We aim to provide a, friendly environment where people can simply enjoy being themselves. Whether it’s sharing a laugh with others, joining in a group activity, or simply relaxing with a warm drink, our team ensures each person feels supported and at ease.

If you’re looking for dementia day care in Hythe or a supportive hub for people living with memory loss, Dementia Daybreak offers a compassionate, community-centred approach.

Activities That Support Wellbeing and Confidence

Each session includes a mix of activities that are enjoyable, stimulating, and tailored to individual capabilities. These may include memory games, gentle crafts, music, conversation groups, or simply spending time together in a relaxed social setting. Our goal is to encourage confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.

Small touches — such as reminiscing over old stories, singing familiar songs, playing classic games, or enjoying creative tasks — can make a big difference. These moments help maintain cognitive function, boost mood, and support emotional wellbeing.

Just as importantly, the club offers plenty of opportunities to socialise. Many attendees find comfort and joy in meeting new people, forming friendships, and sharing experiences with others who understand.

Support for Families and Carers

Dementia affects not only the person living with it, but also the people who care for them. At Dementia Daybreak, we recognise the emotional and practical challenges many families face. Giving carers time to rest, work, or take a break is essential — and our sessions are designed with this in mind.

By providing trusted, professional support, families know their loved one is safe, engaged, and in good company. This peace of mind can make daily life easier and reduce stress for everyone involved.

A Team Who Truly Cares

The Dementia Daybreak team brings warmth, experience, and a genuine passion for helping people thrive. We understand dementia from a person-centred perspective, and our staff are trained to offer compassionate support that respects every individual’s dignity, preferences, and abilities.

Whether someone enjoys lively conversation, quiet activities, or simply being present with others, the team ensures each person feels understood and included.
