Maintaining Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) provides a structured support programme for people who are living with early-to-mild dementia over a set period of sessions.
As a part of our support for people who are living with dementia, we are proud to now offer MCST was a part of our structured service provision available to people in Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
Please note our Sevenoaks and Tonbridge sessions will run from Town Lock Day Centre in Tonbridge initially.
Each MCST session will be provided by trained, friendly staff, and will follow predictable themed formats to make it easy for participants to get involved and benefit from their time spent on the programme.
These sessions help people living with dementia to:
- Engage actively with activities which support their cognitive abilities
- Socialise in a supportive and uplifting environment
- Maintain thinking, communication and memory skills
- Manage and boost confidence and self-esteem
Most importantly, these sessions are not designed to feel like a test or to put pressure on people to perform to a certain standard. Activities are designed to be engaging, meaningful and ultimately fun – meaning participants enjoy taking part in MCST.
