Community Fundraiser

Main tasks

  • To design and deliver a community and small grants fundraising strategy.
  • To secure and organise community fundraising events and activities.
  • To organise and support existing fundraising events.
  • Work with local businesses to secure corporate support opportunities.
  • Give presentations and talks to local groups.
  • Research and write small funding bids.
  • Develop an individual donor base.
  • Develop a legacy campaign.
  • Explore online fundraising opportunities.
  • Support allied income generation activities notably retail
  • Recruit and train a team of volunteers to support fundraising.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the organisations, in particular the marketing officer and CAMBUS co-ordinator, raising awareness of the charity to assist with fundraising.
  • Assist the marketing officer to conduct publicity campaign, working with partners, via press, websites, newsletters, social media, posters etc with key messages.
  • Work in partnership with other stakeholders to assist with the fundraising strategy.
  • Ensure effective data capture onto the charity log data-base.
  • Produce timely quarterly reports.
  • Professional development: work with your line manager to undertake continual personal and professional development.
  • To comply with the Charity’s Health and Safety policies and other relevant policies and procedures as contained in the Staff Handbook and as appropriate to the post.
  • To undertake such other duties as are reasonably appropriate to the post and be prepared to formally take responsibility of other roles within the charity if required.

Location

This is a joint post together with Age UK Hereford and Localities. The post will therefore cover Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Offices include Worcester, Great Malvern and Leominster


Salary

£25,800 - £27,000 per year


Hours

Full-time, fixed contract, Monday - Friday


Requirements

  • Good standard of general education including GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Experience of developing and managing a fundraising strategy
  • Experience of managing projects and events
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of writing successful grant applications
  • Experience of giving talks and presentations
  • Experience of supervising volunteers in a management or non-management capacity
  • Full clean driving licence, access to your own transport and a willingness to use it for business travel
