We believe that no matter our age, we can all express ourselves through creativity. Would you like to use your time at home being creative?
What is this?
Age UK Worcester & Malvern Hills are delighted to partner with Spare Room Arts and Occupational Therapy students from The Worcester University to launch Creative Friends. This project connects different generations together to provide companionship and meaningful activities this winter.
Creative Friends intergenerational project was launched to support individuals to stay connected to others through creativity to combat loneliness, even from a distance during the recent lockdown.
What do we do?
Creative Friends allows those to take part from the comfort and warmth of their home and there is no need for internet or art experience to take part. This is an opportunity to create a piece of art that expresses personal thoughts and feelings that be exchanged to a Creative Friend.
- Pair you with a student volunteer from University of Worcester (your creative friend)
- Choose your artform. From painting, pencil drawing to poetry. You choose what best suits you
- Create a piece of artwork that expresses the theme given to you
- No experience needed
- Final creation will be swapped with your creative friend
What will it cost?
This is completely free. We will even supply you with any materials that you need.
Now We're Talking Art Trail
Our Creative Friends participants artwork is being exhibited in the Now we’re talking with art trail over the course of May. Our artwork will highlight Loneliness and will exhibited in our Mealcheapen Street charity shop window.
There will be many more displays on show throughout Worcester, including other local charities, so why not pop along and show some support for this fantastic campaign.
