What are they?
Opportunities to visit our Information & Advice team at local community venues to get free, confidential and non-judgmental advice on wide range of topics.
Please note: there is no need for an appointment! However, the nature of your enquiry may require further work to be carried out and a dedicated appointment may be suggested by our team.
Our expert advisors can offer:
- A service that is free, confidential and non-judgemental
- Information and advice that is accurate and up to date
- An explanation of your options
- Assistance with identifying and claiming benefits
- A wide range of free factsheets and leaflets
- If we are unable to help you, we will put you in touch with a trusted organisation who can
Our advisors can cover:
- Welfare benefits - advice for people over retirement age, including working out benefit entitlements and offering assistance to complete claim forms
- Residential and community care - helping people identify the care and support they need, including help accessing Social Services and advice on how to pay for care and support.
- Housing issues - staying warm at home, home adaptations and advice on housing options for older people.
- Accessing local services - providing details of services, support, groups, and activities available locally
- Legal - information on wills, power of attorney and how to deal with an estate
- Family and personal matters - social isolation and bereavement.
Is there a cost?
No, these are free drop-in sessions.
