We are planning a change!

Following a Board Meeting, held Thursday 27th March 2025, Dr Jonathan Shapiro, Chair of Age UK BRWF’s Board of Trustees has issued the following on behalf of the Trustees of Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest:
'Locally, Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest has been helping older people in many ways for many years, but its name has always been a bit of a mouthful.
As a charity, our vision has always been to ‘make North Worcestershire a better place to grow older’. Recent changes to other Age UKs within the county, combined with the latest population projections for those aged 50+, have enabled the Age UK BRWF Board to begin to think about extending services, broadening our reach and simplifying our name.
At our Board Meeting on Thursday 27th March 2025, the rest of the Board of Trustees and I unanimously passed a resolution to change the charity’s name to Age UK North Worcestershire, and to extend our boundary areas. The changes are fully supported by Age UK National and, following this resolution, we hope soon to receive confirmation from the Charity Commission so that from April 2025 we can be known as Age UK North Worcestershire (as our charity number and our core work remains unchanged, our plan is to ‘rebrand’ as workloads and finances permit).
As a local resident, it’s great for me to see that everyone in the north of the county will be able to access our service, whether they live in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest as before, but now also the Wychavon wards of Droitwich (West, East, South West and South East), Dodderhill (which includes Wychbold) and Hartlebury.
Our new name will also be a more straightforward way of telling the world that the county is now covered by just two Age UK branches!
We’ll be offering the same great services and will be looking to do more wherever we can, in ways that are sensitive to the communities with which we live, and we look forward to working with you for many years to come!'
