Volunteer’s Week – CEO’s Heartfelt Thank You!

Dear Volunteers,

As we mark the end of Volunteers’ Week, I want to take a moment—on behalf of everyone at Age UK North Worcestershire—to say a heartfelt thank you.

Quite simply, we could not do what we do without you.

Every day, across our communities, you give your time, energy, and compassion to support older people in North Worcestershire. Whether you are welcoming customers in our shops, offering companionship through befriending, supporting events, helping behind the scenes, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed—you are making a real and lasting difference.

Because of you, thousands of older people feel less isolated, more supported, and more connected. You bring warmth, dignity, and kindness to people’s lives, often in ways that go far beyond what words can capture. A friendly conversation, a listening ear, a smile—these moments matter more than you may ever realise.

What continually inspires me is not just what you do, but how you do it.

With patience. With empathy. With generosity. And with genuine care.
For many of the people we support, you are more than a volunteer—you are a familiar face, a source of comfort, and part of a community that truly looks out for one another.

You also strengthen our organisation in ways that go far beyond service delivery. You bring life to our teams, create welcoming spaces, and embody the values at the very heart of Age UK North Worcestershire.

Volunteers’ Week gives us a chance to celebrate you—but our appreciation is not limited to one week. It is felt every single day.
