Sam (pictured above) has been volunteering with us since November 2016, every Monday and Tuesday. Sam left college this year, having studied Film, Media and Television, he wanted to get some hands-on experience. Sam chose to voluneer at Age UK because he felt the work was valuable to the community.

'I like the people', Sam tells me, 'working with friendly and professional people' has been a highlight of his time here. Sam enjoys talking to the clients, many of who have rich and interesting stories to tell and experiences to share.

Sam recommends volunteering for anyone who wants to gain experience in a professional environent - using the booking system, greeting the clients and answering the phoned has helped increase Sam's confidence in managing interactions with the public.

Sam wants to start at University this year and believes that he has gained a lot from his time here. His interpersonal skills have developed and he has learnt about managing clients in a professional manner.
