Our online Gloucestershire Springboard Group is a facebook group for local older people, and those supporting them, to come together in a safe and welcoming space online.

An online community hub bringing you information, ideas, links to local activities and reassurance.

The group is an online community hub where you can make new friends and stay in touch with one another, as well as with Age UK Gloucestershire and some of the individuals and organisations working with us.

We established this facebook group back in 2020, when the pandemic meant that people were no longer able to meet up in public spaces. Although our Social Groups are, thankfully, back up and running, the online group lives on as a central hub!

Group membership is growing every day, with people connecting and enjoying general chit-chat, fun and sharing of stories and experiences. It's the best place to find out about actiities and events near you, and we keep it updated with topical information about issues that impact older people.

How to join our Gloucestershire Springboard Facebook Group

The group is private and moderated by Age UK Gloucestershire to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Older people around the county who use Facebook, can request membership by searching Facebook for Gloucestershire Springboard or clicking here.

Unsure about how to use Facebook?

No need to worry, our Digital Champion volunteers, can provide fantastic guidance. Find out how they can help you with Facebook and many other digital queries you may have here.

Cuppa With Jane

If you feel more comfortable meeting new people from the comfort of your own home, our Cuppa with Jane online social group meets on zoom every other Tuesday. We encourage you to make a cup of tea or coffee, log-on and join the group. Jane will make sure that you are welcome, and included in conversation. You can find details of how to join on our Springboard Facebook Group page, or call Jane on 07511 223995 and she will be happy to send you log-in details.
