Our Gentle Social Walking Groups are for people who are interested in moving more and being more sociable.

What are Gentle Social Walking Groups?

Our group walks for people who are interested in moving more and being more sociable. All walks are very gentle and are designed to be accessible to everyone of all fitness levels. They are planned around level terrain and accessibility. This includes access to toilets and nearby parking or easy access by public transport. Our walks are about 30 minutes long and we tend to not walk further than a mile. Our walks are all planned on circular routes and there is the opportunity to cut them shorter if a person does not feel up to the whole walk.

We offer the chance to socialise after every session with other participants, Age UK Gloucestershire colleagues and volunteers. Tea/coffee and biscuits or cake are provided (suggested donation of £1 towards refreshments).

Who can take part?

Our group walks for people who would like to be more active and social! If any of the following statements are true for you, why not come along!

• People who are looking for an opportunity to go for a short and gentle walk.
• People who want to make new connections and socialise.
• People who would like to join a walk that is accessible if they are using mobility aids.
• People living in Tewkesbury.
