Pension Credit is a benefit for people over State Pension age which tops up your income if you're struggling to make ends meet.
What is Pension Credit?
This financial support is in place to support people on a low income. The amount you are awarded will top up your income to the amounts shown below. By claiming Pension Credit you will also be entitled to free NHS dental treatment, receive a Cold Weather Payment and may also be entitled to further support.

How to apply for Pension Credit
To make your claim you will need to call the Pension Credit claim line on 0800 99 1234.
You’ll need to have the following details to hand:
• Your National Insurance number.
• Your bank account details.
• Information about your income, savings and investments.
• Information about your pension (if you have one).
• Details of any housing costs (such as mortgage, interest payments, service charges) and your partner’s details (if you have a partner).
