Financial concerns can be a constant source of worry, particularly to those struggling to make ends meet on a basic retirement pension. Often older people have special needs relating to their medical or physical requirements and they may, unknowingly, be eligible for additional help. Many do not realise that some benefits are not 'means tested' and can still be claimed even if they have savings or other income.

With the on-going changes to the benefits system, many more older people are now able to claim extra benefit. In addition, many people who have disabilities and need help and care on a regular basis may be able to claim Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance.

There are also other benefits - for example those that can provide help with rent payments, Council Tax bills, or additional help with dental and optical charges.

If you are 50+ and have difficulty getting out of your home, we can provide a home visit (subject to availability) to offer advice on benefits or help with filling in benefits forms.
