Age UK Barrow and District merges with Age UK South Cumbria.

This exciting merger means that we can continue to provide a quality service to all older people across the whole of South Cumbria. We unite missions, expertise, and resources of both organisations to better serve communities across the area. Central to the merger is a commitment to not only maintain but to amplify the quality of support and services the two local charities offer. Age UK South Lakeland Statement regarding Age UK West Cumbria Closure

We understand that there are some concerns following the recent news that Age UK West Cumbria is closing. While we know that, unfortunately, this will impact people in the West Cumbria area, we would like to reassure our stakeholders and older people in our local area that Age UK South Lakeland continues to operate as normal, as an independent local Charity. Scam Alert

Please be aware of hoax callers posing as a Door and Window security company who claim to be working on behalf of Age UK, Age UK South Cumbria, or Age UK South Lakeland. The hoax callers are claiming to check the elderly & vulnerable in this area for the security of their doors & windows and are trying to arrange visits to assess the recipient’s homes. The numbers that were used to make the calls; 01274 003 032 & 01274 003 352 are flagged as suspicious. The police have been made aware of the scam. Please pass this on to loved ones or anyone else who may be vulnerable to nuisance callers. If you have any concerns please report to the police on 101.
