Following on from last year's 'Get Your Knit On!', Age UK Lambeth is now continuing the campaign into 2017 as the Lambeth Big Knit!
We want to create hundreds of hand-knitted blankets to give to vulnerable older people so we need to collect thousands of 6 inch (15cm) knitted squares that can be sewn together.
How you can get involved:
Everyone from beginners to experienced knitters is welcome to get involved. All you need to do is use double knitting yarn (DK) and 4mm needles to knit a 6 inch square. You can use any stitches or colours you like to create your own unique square or use one of the patterns that you can download below.
Please send your completed squares to:

Thanks to the Hetherington Group Practice we can offer a chance for people to get together in a comfortable meeting room. You can bring along your own knitting, crocheting or sewing. You can call in for a chat. If you want to learn to knit then there is sure to be someone there who can help you.
It’s all very informal and most of all it’s going to be fun.
The Hetherington Group Practice, 18 Hetherington Road, SW4 7NU.
The sessions will be held every Thursday, between 2pm and 4pm.
The sessions are open to all Lambeth residents – including patients from the Hetherington surgery. Just come along and join in the fun.
Please help spread the word. You can download a flyer from here to use yourself or pass on to a friend!
