Community Energy Support Worker

Salary:
£24,262 per annum - £12.61 per hour pro rata
Hours:
28 to 37 hours per week (flexible)
Monday – Friday Between 8:30 to 5pm
Contract Term:
24 Month Contract
Location:
Based at either Bullenshaw House (Hemsworth) or Waterton House (Wakefield) with home working incorporated and travel throughout the Wakefield District
Please note a driving licence and use of a vehicle with Business use insurance is essential for this role
💡 Job Purpose
Join our Connecting Care Team and help older people across Wakefield stay warm, well, and independent. You’ll give practical energy advice and support that:
- Cuts household costs
- Tackles fuel poverty
- Keeps people safe and comfortable at home 🏡
What You’ll Do
✔️ Visit older people at home and provide rapid support (fuel vouchers, heating help, supplier issues)
✔️ Offer clear advice on tariffs, grants, and energy efficiency
✔️ Create personal energy plans using the LEAF-7 tool
✔️ Work with health, social care, and community partners 🤝
✔️ Record outcomes that make a real difference
We’re Looking For
- Confident with IT (Outlook, Word, Excel) 💻
- Experience supporting older people
- Knowledge of energy issues & fuel poverty
- Great communicator who can make complex info simple ✨
- Full UK driving licence 🚗
