At Age UK Barnsley, our dedicated team of 4 full-time and 49 part-time staff, along with an incredible 145 regular volunteers, work tirelessly to support and provide services to over 2500 older people on a regular basis.
Our Services
At Age UK Barnsley, we’re here to support people over 50 across our community with practical help, friendly faces, and opportunities to stay active and connected.
We offer a wide range of services designed to promote independence, wellbeing, and confidence, including:

Information and Advice
Whatever the need, our team is here to listen, support, and help people over 50 live well in Barnsley.
Additionally, our free Information & Advice service offers trusted guidance on a wide range of topics, such as welfare benefit advice, benefit checks, accessing care and support, housing etc. for those aged 50+.
During the winter months, Age UK Barnsley also provides a free Warmer Homes Check. This includes practical advice on improving your home’s energy efficiency, along with the free fitting of helpful items such as energy-efficient lightbulbs, draught excluders, and radiator foil covers.

Every pound raised by Age UK Barnsley is spent directly within the Barnsley borough, funding vital services and support for people over 50 in our own community.
