Donate a Gift
Where and when can I donate?
You can find our Christmas Kindness Project gift tree at VINTage UK Barnsley, on Eldon Street! 🎄
Each gift tag represents someone aged 50+ in our community and includes their age, gender and a few ideas of what they'd love to receive this Christmas.
How to take part
1. Choose a gift tag
Visit VINTage UK Barnsley and choose a tag from our Christmas tree. Each tag shares a little information about the person you're buying for, along with some gift ideas to help you choose something they'll love.
2. Shop for their gift
Use the suggestions on your chosen tag as a guide, and please try to stick to the theme so the gift is suited to the person receiving it. You're welcome to add a few extra treats, such as chocolates, to make their gift even more special!
3. Pack your present
Place your gifts in a gift bag and attach the original gift tag securely to the outside. You can write your name on the front of the tag where it says 'From' or leave it blank if you'd prefer to remain anonymous.
4. Return your gift
Bring your completed gift bag back to VINTage UK Barnsley and hand it to a member of our team, who will make sure it is collected and prepared for distribution.
You can also write your first name in the ‘From’ section on the front of the gift tag, or leave it blank if you’d prefer to remain anonymous.
Return your completed gift bag before Saturday 12 December 2026. This gives us time to check and prepare the gifts for distribution.
5. Spread a little more kindness!
Feel free to take more than one tag if you'd like to buy gifts for several people. We simply ask that you only take as many tags as you feel confident you can complete, so every person has the best chance of receiving a gift.
Thank you for helping us make Christmas a little brighter for people across Barnsley!
Why are we doing this?
Christmas can be a wonderful time of year, but for some people, the winter months can also bring feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Some people aged 50+ in our community may not have family, friends or loved ones to celebrate with. For others, Christmas Day may mean spending time alone, without a gift to open or someone to share the occasion with.
We want to help change that.
Through The Christmas Kindness Project, we're bringing our community together to share thoughtful gifts, spread a little happiness and remind people that they haven't been forgotten.
Every gift is a small gesture that says, someone is thinking of you.
By taking a tag, choosing a gift and giving a little of your time, you can help show Barnsley cares. Together, we can bring extra kindness, connection and Christmas cheer to people who may need it most.
Because nobody should be forgotten at Christmas.
