Friendship Cafe

Our aim is to create a place where people can come together regularly for a chat and make some friends. For more information on how to join or if you would like to host or volunteer, please contact jayne@linkvisiting.org.

To Join: Due to COVID-19, we are currently running Friendship Cafes online via Zoom. It is easily accessible - you don’t even need to make an account! We will send you an email with a link which will take you straight to the cafe, or you can choose to dial in with a telephone. Feel free to ‘pop in’ and see what it’s all about, or pass this information on to someone who may benefit from a welcoming environment and some company.

To Host: If you are a local cafe/pub that would like to offer a space for us to host a Friendship Table, we would like to hear from you! We will provide a table sign and promote it on our social media channels and website. It is flexible to suit you; always have the sign on the table or choose an hour or so on a set day to host a ‘table’.

To Volunteer: We are always looking for volunteers to sit at our Friendship Tables to encourage people to connect with others.

Our two Friendship Tables are open to everyone and located at:

  • Pinewood Bar and Cafe Unit 8 Pinewood Leisure Centre, Old Wokingham Road, Wokingham, RG40 3AQ
    Tel: 0118 908 8160 or www.pinewoodbarandcafe.co.uk
  • Finchampstead Baptist Church Cafe
FBC Centre, Gorse Ride North, Finchampstead, Berkshire, RG40 4ES
    Tel: 0118 908 8160 or www.finchampstead.com

Friendship Champions

Volunteer with us!

Our plan is to establish a network of Friendship Champions whose role it would be to promote the Friendship Alliance’s services, actively encourage friendships and develop community spirit.

If you organise a group or activity, run your street’s WhatsApp group chat, work in your local café, library, or even if you’re just a friendly person who wants to spend more time in their community, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’d like to sign up and take our pledge, you will be awarded a certificate that states you are officially a Friendship Champion and you can get started!

Please contact jayne@linkvisiting.org to find out more.

What's On

The Friendship Alliance are currently producing a fortnightly e-newsletter you can sign up for here. We share local activities, groups, events and services in a simple, tidy layout that is easy to read, with links for further information.

Sign up to receive our fortnightly e-newsletter.

We also post regularly on our social media channels, often updating on local news or reporting a great new group we’ve found that we’d like to recommend. We’d love you to follow us and tell us about what is happening in your local community.
