Friends Together Co-ordinator
Job Summary
Hours of work: 25 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9.30 a.m. – 15.30 p.m.
Annual Leave: 20 days on a pro-rata basis, plus all statutory bank holidays and one compulsory day off from Age UK Bury. In addition, we are offering 3 days paid leave for you to undertake voluntary work for a charity of your choice.
Contract: Temporary subject to funding and a 6-month probationary period. This scheme will be on-going until we are notified the funding is no longer available. Current funding has been secured until September 2026.
Salary: £16,874 per annum
Job Location: The Jubilee Centre, Mosley Avenue, Bury, BL9 6NJ / Hybrid working

Friends Together is a community-based service supporting individuals to reduce loneliness, build confidence, and strengthen social connections across Bury. We are committed to delivering a high-quality, inclusive and person-centred service.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to provide strategic leadership and development of the Friends Together service. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the service is delivered to the highest standards while remaining responsive to the needs of the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and ongoing development of the Friends Together service
- Deliver excellent customer service, responding to enquiries impartially and confidentially via telephone, face-to-face contact and written communication
- Ensure the service complies with all organisational policies, procedures and service standards
- Manage, support and supervise staff to deliver an outstanding service
- Lead and support outreach and promotional activity to raise awareness and market the service across Bury
- Monitor service performance and contribute to continuous improvement

- Have the skills, knowledge and experience to lead and develop a community-based service
- Be confident in communicating with a wide range of people in a professional and empathetic manner
- Have experience of staff supervision and service delivery
- Be organised, reliable and committed to high-quality service provision
- Share our values of inclusion, respect and community engagement
