How Service Works

  • CONTACT:  Contact us by Telephone 0161 796 6949 or Email hp@ageukbury.org.uk

  • DISCUSSION:  Initial chat of the work needed to be done.

  • SCOPE:  Check if work is within or outside of our scope.
    (If outside of our scope - e.g. requires a roofer or an electrician etc, we will try to assist the client by referring them to one of our trusted contacts).

  • SCHEDULE:  If the work is initially deemed to be within our scope, we will arrange a suitable day and time for our Handyperson to visit.

Depending on the work involved, this visit will be to either:

  • PAYMENT:  Complete the work. Payment will be required on the day it is completed.

  • ASSESMENT:  Assess and give an estimate for the work.(At this point advising what materials the client will need to purchase or if they are unable to get the materials themselves, source and obtain for them). Once confirmed client wishes to proceed and all materials are available, we will arrange a slot for the work to be completed.

There is No Charge for this visit.

Should we find on review that the work is not within our scope, we will then offer advice and signpost to relevant trades people who may be able to help.

fitting handrails

security locks

putting up shelves

curtain rails

wall decorations

minor plumbing

painting and decorating

changing light bulbs

assembling flat pack furniture

Charges and Payment Methods

August Service Update:
For over three years, we have been determined to keep our prices unchanged despite rising costs.

To ensure we can continue offering the professional, reliable and friendly assistance you depend on, we will be making a small adjustment to our charges from 1st August 2026.

We only charge for the work completed. If on arrival, we find that the job is outside our scope there is no charge. We work to minimize unnecessary trips but sometimes we have to visit to establish what is needed.

While our prices are changing, everything else remains the same. You can still expect the friendly service that has made us a trusted choice in the community. For your reassurance and safety, all our staff and volunteers are DBS checked, giving you peace of mind and confidence whenever you use our service. We would like to thank all our clients for their continued loyalty and support, allowing us to maintain the high standard of service that we are proud to provide.

There is no call out fee.

Our labour charges from 1st August 2026 are:
First hour charge   -     £40
Subsequent hours  -    £30

Payment can be by card, cash or cheque.

Handy tip:  MAKE A LIST !

To get best value for money we advise client to make a list of jobs we can undertake on one visit.

Service Hours

Our Handyperson undertakes jobs Monday to Friday.

Our Admin Office is staffed Tuesday to Thursday between 8.30 am and 16.00 pm.

Outside of these times, there is an answerphone or please contact via email. 
We aim to respond to phone calls and messages within 48 hours (excluding weekends).
