Age UK City launches new food delivery service

Published on 02 September 2026 02:16 PM

Older residents who might struggle to get to the shops can now have a bag of low-cost, high quality fresh food delivered to their door for just £5 per week. Age UK City are teaming up with Family Action, who run the City FOOD Club, a membership scheme providing City residents with great value produce and reducing food waste into the bargain. The Club operates out of Artizan library every Thursday and Friday, enabling locals to take home a bag of food worth around £15 for just a fiver. Members can choose from a wide range of fresh fruit and veg, meat, fish, cereal, bread, dairy, tins and staples, treats and household essentials. And with the launch of this new scheme, older residents can have their bag of shopping delivered direct to their door, and even put away in the cupboards, by a friendly volunteer.
