New services enable oldest residents to live independently in their homes for longer

Age UK City have received a substantial funding award from City of London Corporation to provide much-needed help in the home to isolated older residents. The package of support, funded for three years through the Community Infrastructure Levy, includes a food delivery service in partnership with City FOOD Club and visits from our expert tech team to help people get online.

We are delivering the new project jointly with the team at City Connections, who will be launching a Handyperson service in the City from 1st October 26. City residents on pension credit or other means-tested benefits can get help with minor home repairs and adaptations to make their homes safer and enable them to live at home independently for longer.

The funding also supports a wide range of existing social and therapeutic activities such as coffee mornings, exercise classes and cultural and leisure activities both online, and out and about in the Square Mile.
