Loneliness Campaign 2025
Almost a million older people will face a crisis of loneliness this winter. But with your help, we can help solve it. From weekly friendship calls to claiming benefits, we won’t let older people spend a winter alone. Your donation can help us keep these vital services running.
Most people won’t notice. They won’t see the days spent alone, in silence. They won’t realise the risks – like lonely people being 25% more likely to develop dementia. They won't understand that, for so many, the phone never rings – not even on Christmas Day.
Older people are facing a crisis hiding in plain sight.
With your help, we can change how we age by helping to solve it.
You can bring confidence, connection, and care to older people this winter.
Help us solve the crisis people don’t see.

'Delivering Joy' with Dunelm
Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire continued its partnership with Dunelm this Christmas by taking part in the retailer’s Delivering Joy campaign. The initiative invites Dunelm customers to donate practical items and small comforts, which are then distributed to older people in the local community.
The campaign plays an important role in supporting those who may be experiencing loneliness, financial pressures, or reduced independence. For many older people, especially those living alone or managing long‑term health conditions, the festive period can heighten feelings of isolation. The donated gifts offer more than practical help, they provide a moment of connection and a reminder that the community has not forgotten them.
This work aligns closely with Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire’s commitment to reducing loneliness and improving wellbeing among older people across the region. The charity ensures that each donation reaches someone who will genuinely benefit from the gesture.
