Befriending Event at The Belgrade Theatre for Lonely Older People

Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire recently held a special event for clients and volunteers of its Befriending Service, celebrating companionship, connection, and community.

The event, held at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, brought together older people supported by the charity. Guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea, a raffle and plenty of conversation. With attendance exceeding 50 people, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for those experiencing loneliness or isolation to leave their homes and connect with others in similar situations.

Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire’s Befriending Service provides regular social contact for older people who may be feeling lonely or isolated. Through home visits or phone calls, trained volunteers offer friendship and a listening ear, helping clients maintain confidence and connection.
