2025 in review – a word from our CEO

2025 was a hugely successful year for Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire. We’ve managed to undertake a number of internal structural improvements to help us increase our reach and improve our understanding of our impact. Our outcomes for the year not only show an incredibly busy year, but an extremely positively impactful one on our older people communities. The demand for our support and services continues to grow.
Last year we directly supported 2,844 people – that’s 13 people for every day our offices opened, and our phones receiving over 40 calls for support per day. Our information and advice team identified over £1.7m of new additional household benefit claims – helping to put additional money directly into the pockets of our local older people.
2026 and the year ahead looks positive for us too. Older people living in the most deprived areas can expect 7 fewer years in good health than their peers in the least deprived areas (ONS). So, we would like to continue to extend the reach of our services, particularly into rural and coastal areas of East Riding and we are exploring ways how we might do that. We deliver value for money services and support and we could do so much more if funding allows. We have a pipeline of new services including in neighbourhood preventative health, home support and an expansion of our befriending service.
