Join us for the next Let's Talk Peer Support Group session, Wednesdy 4th August, 10.30am - 12pm, when we're going to be joined by Daniel Cooper, BBC /TV Licencing, for a presentation about the changes to the TV Licence for over 75s.

In August 2020, there was a policy change to the TV Licence for those over 75 and free licences were no longer funded by the government from this date.

However, anyone aged 75 or over and receiving Pension Credit is now eligible to apply for a free TV Licence.

Since then, more than 9 out of 10 of these households have now made arrangements for a free or paid licence or updated us on changes in their circumstances.

In early July, TV Licensing wrote to customers they had not yet heard from to explain the extended transition period we put in place due to Covid will end on 31 July 2021. The letter also included information about the simple steps to take to get set up and make clear that advice and support are on-hand should people need it.
