Age UK Leeds building re-opening

As restrictions have lifted, we have decided to take a careful, slow approach to reopening. Starting on Monday 26 July our Bradbury building will be open to the public Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-3pm. As we support vulnerable older people, when you visit us we politely ask you to maintain social distancing and wear a mask. We will review our opening in four weeks time and will update you here and on social media as plans change. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Age UK Leeds and Care to Air Radio Broadcasts working in partnership with Chapel FM

Care to Air was initially set up to provide an opportunity for Age UK Leeds to raise the profile of the services that are currently being offered to older people in Leeds.  By involving older people, volunteers, staff members and guest speakers, the programmes have provided a new and interesting forum where news, views and light entertainment can be shared. The broadcasts have been received positively by all participants and the listening community.

To date there have been 5 broadcasts based on the overall theme ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’.  The broadcast is aired every fourth Sunday of each month and is entitled Care to Air/AUKL.  There is conversation, music and information that offers a seasonal flavour such as New Beginnings – Easter, Springtime and for May it was ‘May Days’ where everyone was encouraged to share stories about a time in May in the past, present or future.  There were also guest speaker/s from Active Leeds and Public Health.  You can read more about the project here
