Senior Care Companion
Age UK Lincolnshire is an independent local charity – a brand partner of Age UK – supporting more than 6,000 people per month and demand is growing. That’s why we’re looking for two motivated and compassionate Senior Care Companion's to join our dedicated team.
This is more than just a care role. It’s a chance to lead, support, and truly connect with older people in your community, helping them live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
- Covering Lincoln and surrounding villages
- 35 hour or 28 hour contracts available
- £23,707 (FTE) per annum I £13.03 per hour
- Permanent contract

About the role

The Senior Care Companion role is a new role and will be pivotal role in helping older people to live independently in their own home through the delivery of a tailored package of care. The client is at the heart of everything we do, supporting them with tasks such as:
- Personal hygiene
- Medication
- Mobility
- Nutrition
- Companionship
We offer our clients as much or as little support as they need, treating them with dignity and respect, whilst promoting their independence.
The Senior Care Companion will also provide leadership and support to the Care Companions within the Care Services team, including reviewing care plans and ensuring they reflect current needs and reviewing medication risks assessments regularly. Overseeing prescription management and ensuring timely delivery to pharmacies and collection where needed, will also be required.
The Senior Care Companion will be on a on call rota that is shared between the Care Service leadership team. Responsibilities include implementing updates to ensure consistency and quality across the service.
What we offer
Unlike our competitors, our care companion team are paid for a full shift, not per call, and each client receives a minimum of 30 minutes contact time.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential as travel time is built into your shift. We pay 45p per mile, up to 10,000 miles.

Working with the Registered Care Manager and Care Coordinators, Senior Care Companions will receive regular supervisions following a comprehensive induction to ensure we help you develop your career in the care sector.
