How YOU can help Us!

If you, or anyone you know has ever dealt with Age UK, you will know how important we are in helping older people have a good quality of life. We help older people in so many ways and in the coming years, the UK population aged over 60 will have increased by half, so there is an ever-increasing demand for our services.

Come and get involved

We want to set up a consultation group to get your views on older people’s services in Wandsworth.

We are always looking to improve our services and would like to know how you feel about them and other services provided in the borough. In addition we want to know what services you think are needed that are not being provided at present.  It would be a small commitment of one meeting every quarter for a couple of hours to get your views and discuss issues affecting older people.

If you are interested in joining us to help shape older people’s services, please contact Helen Gilbert. Email: Helen.Gilbert@ageukwandsworth.org.uk or call 020 8877 8940.

Donate your time

If you can spare some of your time, Age UK Wandsworth is always keen to hear from people who would like to help with caring for the older generation. Volunteers are needed to help in our office, to offer telephone befriending to older people, and to offer direct help, support and friendship through projects such as Be-a-Friend, Carers' Support and Garden Friends.

We also need volunteers to help us with fundraising, both by participating in activities and getting involved with organising events.

Donate your money

You can make a donation in a number of ways: in cash at our office, through a cheque or a postal order, by regular standing order from your bank, or through your credit or debit card. Visit our donation page for more information on how to give.

You may also like to consider making a donation directly from your salary, through Payroll Giving. These donations are deducted before tax and are a tax-efficient way to give. Please contact your employer to arrange this.

Leaving a gift in your Will, once you have provided for loved ones, is a valuable way to support Age UK Wandsworth after your death. It is one of the most effective ways of supporting our work. Large or small, your legacy will enable us to support long-term projects.

If you are considering leaving a legacy, please contact your solicitor, who can ensure your wishes are stipulated in your Will. Your solicitor will need these details: Age UK Wandsworth, 549 Old York Road, Wandsworth, London, SW18 1TQ. Registered charity number 1069406.
