The Big Knit is back for 2016-17 and it's going to be the biggest one ever! This year Age UK is aiming to knit 2 million hats nationally to top innocent smoothie bottles.

Age UK Barnet is tasked with knitting 4700 of these little hats and your help is essential to achieveing this.

For every behatted smoothie that gets sold, Age UK Barnet will receive 25p to help older people during the cold winter months.

Your will find the little bottles of innocent smoothies in shops wearing your hats in October 2017!

How the Big Knit helps older people

The Big Knit is a joint campaign between Age UK and innocent drinks to help vulnerable older people. With over a decade of support from knitters up and down the country, the campaign has raised vital funds to support local and national winter projects to help older people keep warm and well in winter through befriending visits, emergency cold weather support, warm meals and other vital services.

The Big Knit is also a great way to bring people and communities together. Knitting groups are a great way to get people together to share patterns and have a cup of tea or two!

‘The Big Knit campaign couldn't happen without the support of thousands of amazing people across the UK who take part and knit woolly hats to adorn innocent smoothies each year.’  - Douglas Lamont, CEO at innocent
