Loneliness Awareness Week 2022

Published on 16 June 2022 11:58 AM

If you are feeling lonely, you are not alone. We are here for you. We provide a range of services and activities that can help you meet new people and make new friends.
225,000 older people often go a whole week without speaking to anyone. We’re trying to change that. You can make a difference by volunteering with our befriending & bereavement services.

Volunteer for us

Could you spare just a couple of hours a week to visit or call a lonely older person? Make a difference and help us fight social isolation and loneliness in Worcester & Malvern Hills by volunteering.

How we are combatting loneliness

  • Befriending service

Befriending is available for older people who live alone, have no family living locally or feel socially isolated and lack social contact. The service will provide regular companionship to older people who best need it

  • Bereavement service

Coping with the loss of a loved one is one of the hardest things we ever have to deal with. That is why we are offering friendship and support to those who are experiencing loss, as an extension to our established Befriending Service.
