Uplifiting Music Sessions
Find new ways to connect and communicate through the power of music. Join our weekly music-making sessions for people with dementia and their carers. They are light-hearted and uplifting.
Music is a wonderful way to connect with others.
Our friendly Music Champions will welcome you and support everyone to express themselves through music.
When is it?
Who is it for?
It’s for people who are living with dementia and their carer. You could come with your spouse, your friend, a family member, a carer, whoever you want to have fun with!
Sessions are suitable for people at any stage of their dementia.
What to expect at a session
• We sit in a circle
• You can sit next to the person you’ve come with
• We have a table full of percussion instruments to choose from.
• Together we'll make some music. You can start off a beat and we’ll join in, or we might lead a simple musical activity.
• There will be a mix of improvised music
• Talk is limited as we like to concentrate on the music
• Sometimes there’s singing, sometimes there’s dancing - whatever you feel like!
Parking & Access
• There is a free car park and spaces for Blue Badge holders.
• There is also on-street parking next to the Jubilee Centre on the surrounding residential streets.
• The Jubilee Centre is wheelchair accessible.
• Toilets available.
• If you’re hard of hearing, visually impaired, or have any special needs, that you would like us to be aware of, just let us know.
