Donating goods
We really appreciate all donations to our charity shops.
How to donate
You may deliver goods directly to one of the shops during the times they are open or the Jubilee Centre, Mosley Avenue, Bury, BL9 6NJ, Mondays to Fridays from 9.30 to 4.00 pm.
We are able to collect bags of items if you live in the Bury area. Please phone 0161 763 9030 to arrange a day and time. Our drivers will have Age UK Bury identification on them, so please ask to see it.
We accept good quality items such as:
- Small electrical items
- Clothing
- Shoes
- Bric-a-brac
- Curtains
- Bedding
- Small items of furniture (not soft furnishings)
- Books
- DVDs
- Records
- Toys (must have safety mark where necessary)
- Mobility scooters and aids
We can not accept:
- White goods (i.e. Fridges, washing machines etc.)
- Televisions
- Beds
- Mattresses
- Pillows
- Real fur coats and accessories
- Crash helmets and riding hats
- Earrings
- Firearms and other offensive weapons i.e knives
- Gas or oil appliances
- Childrens nightwear unless clearly marked with a manufacturers label stating "keep away from fire" or similar
Please note that we are unable to do house clearances or collections from social care or nursing homes.
