Healthwatch Bury

Healthwatch Bury works with local health and care services and the local community to make sure they are working as best they can for the people who use them. The current coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic will have a big impact on people’s ability to access the health and care support they need, and on the organisations that provide those services in your local area. This will be a time of increased anxiety and worry for many, and that social distancing measures will have an impact on some people’s emotional health and wellbeing.

Healthwatch Bury wants to hear from you about how coronavirus / COVID-19 has affected you or your family members, so that they can let health and care services in Bury know what they’re doing well during the pandemic, and where people feel their care and communication could be improved. They will share this information with providers, with Bury CCG, and with Bury Council to help make sure that their response to the pandemic takes into account the needs and experiences of local people as the situation progresses.

The Show must go on!

As going to the theatre or out to see a musical is impossible, online alternatives have become available.

The National Theatre is streaming This House by James Graham until Thursday. The play is set in 1974, with the corridors of Westminster ringing with the sound of infighting and backstabbing as the political parties battle to change the future of the nation. (Nothing new then!). This House is a timely, moving and funny insight into the workings of British politics by James Graham (Ink, ITV's Quiz) and directed by Jeremy Herrin (People, Places and Things). Go to

The Shows Must Go On is a You Tube channel bringing you showtunes, backstage access and full performances from some of the best loved musicals in history! Hairspray Live will go out on YouTube on Friday 29nd May at 7pm BST and will be available to watch for free for 48 hours, before being taken down. Go to

Clarence Park Lido

The Lido Rock Snake is a local community project that started just over a week ago. It was the idea of a local resident, Isla, aged 6, and it has brought a smile to everyone who has seen it. The Snake is growing and over 540 rocks have been added. The project now has it's own Facebook page - come and join in the fun!

If you are stuck at home and would like to add some painted rocks, give us a call at the office and we will come and collect them.

Jane’s Challenge

Last week Jane, our Befriending Co-ordinator, set this mind-boggling question.

If you wrote out all the world’s countries in capital letters, there are only 5 countries that wouldn’t contain a single letter with a hole you could colour in. (For example in ENGLAND, you could colour in the holes in the A and the D).

Well done to all who got all five answers. You are very clever!

This Week’s Quiz

This week’s quiz has been donated to us by Eleanor. Again there are no prizes except the satisfied smile you get on your face when you get all the answers right.

The answers will be published next week. Click here for the PDF attachment.
