Celebrating Trustees' Week

Published on 05 November 2025 11:01 AM

Trustees’ Week is an opportunity to pause and thank the people who volunteer their time, expertise, and judgement to help charities thrive. At Age UK East London, our trustees play a vital role in guiding our work and making sure our services deliver real benefit to older people across the boroughs we serve.

Trustees oversee our strategy, finances, governance, and long-term planning. They support our leadership team, ask the right questions, and help us stay ambitious, accountable, and focused on the needs of the people we work with. In short: our trustees help ensure we remain a charity that older people can trust.

At the heart of our mission is a simple aim – to make East London a place where people age well, and where older people can live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. Our trustees help us stay true to that mission. Their experience spans community organisations, business, health, housing, law, and many other sectors. That breadth of knowledge makes a real difference to the decisions we make and the services we provide.

We would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has volunteered as a trustee with us, past and present. Your insight and commitment have helped shape our work, supported our growth, and strengthened our impact across East London.

You can meet our current Board here:

We’re also proud that many of our staff volunteer as trustees with other charities. We offer additional time off to encourage this, because we know how valuable skilled, engaged trustees are to the wider voluntary sector.

Thank you to every trustee – inside and outside of Age UK East London – for the time, care and energy you bring. Charities depend on you, and older people across our community benefit from your leadership.
