Social Isolation

We have a wealth of information on what’s going on locally across Gloucestershire and we can provide assistance with finding social opportunities tailored to you, including transport options to reach these.

Applying for Attendance Allowance

Attendance Allowance is extra money available to you if you need help with personal support, or supervision to keep you safe at home due to an illness or disability.

Entitlement is based on the help you require, not the help you actually get. Attendance Allowance is not taxable, is not based on National Insurance contributions, and it is not means-tested, so you do not have to give details of your income or savings.

Many older people spend the money on things to help them remain independent at home, for example, to pay for heating bills, the delivery of pre-cooked meals or taxis to get to appointments or social activities.

The Help Team can provide more information on this scheme, advice on your eligibility and support filling in your application.
