Let's Talk March

Published on 31 March 2026 10:14 AM

In March, Let's Talk explored dealing with anti-social behaviour. We heard from the Islington Council about what it is, how to report it, and ways to cope with and address it.

After lunch, Philip Henderson shared about a new programme from The Council that helps Islington residents who are out of work access employment support, called Connect to Work.

Nalia Hilliman, Anti-Social Behaviour Case Management Officer presented from the Islington Council Anti-Social Behaviour team.  The team is there to support people experiencing anti-social behaviour. You do not have to be an Islington Council housing tenant - they support Islington residents, including residents in private accommodation or accommodation through other housing associations.

Connect to Work

Connect to Work is a free programme that offers personalised, one-to-one support for people with disabilities, long-term health conditions or other complex barriers to work such as carers, refugees, older residents and ex offenders. The Islington Council is one of 12 Central London boroughs delivering the new programme.

Philip Henderson, project manager of Connect to Work, shared about an "employment age gap" in today's workplace and ways to combat the issue. He closed the session by discussing Connect to Work, detailing key features of support offered by the programme. His personal enthusiasm for the project was very clear and if you're interested in finding out more about the project, we'd encourage you to get in touch.
