Digital Champions
We understand that, for some older people, using technology can be daunting and it can be difficult to know where to start. However, building your confidence and learning how to use technology can open so many doors, from a new way to communicate with family and friends, to accessing vital services that are becoming increasingly ‘digital first’.
Digital Champions is an exciting new programme from Age UK Lincolnshire. It aims to provide local older people with the technology, skills and confidence, to be able to use devices (such as tablets, smart phones and computers), to browse the internet and get the most from digital services.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to brush up your skills, our Digital Champions are here to help!
How our Digital Champions can help
-
Tea & Tech Group Sessions
Through the Digital Champion Programme, we aim to tackle digital exclusion by offering group sessions with our Digital Champions who will tailor their support to your needs.
Perhaps you would like to know how to complete your shopping or banking online, use your gadget (tablet, smartphone, or laptop) more efficiently or just know how to video call your family.
Sessions are £2 which includes a hot drink and biscuit.
-
Tech Together
For those looking for more structured learning, Tech Together is a seven-week course covering key digital topics to help build confidence, knowledge and practical skills. Group sizes are kept small to ensure personalised support.
-
One to One Digital Sessions
These one-hour sessions are available in Lincoln and Boston and give you dedicated time with our experts to teach you specific skills at your pace. Bring your device and we can help to set it up for you and guide you to learn new skills and tailor the support to suit your needs.
One to One Digital Sessions are £5 each.
