We are here for you
Age UK North, South and West Dorset are actively working in partnership with other organisations to create a society that inspires, supports and enables older people to live the lives they want.
Below is our range of services brought to you by our dedicated and caring team of advisors, support workers, volunteers and supporters.
Finding it hard to do the things you always used to do around the home?
Our team can provide a range of services such as shopping, light domestic cleaning, changing bed linen, laundry and ironing, basic IT support, help with making appointments or phone calls along with some social interaction and companionship.
Growing older can bring about many changes in our lives, with decisions needing to be made and questions raised that we have never considered before. Just because things may be different, they should not become a barrier to you getting the most out of life. We offer a free information and advice service to those over 55, their carers and family members.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is a proven and recognised programme of group activity and stimulation used to treat memory loss. We offer therapy to those with a diagnosis of Dementia, and those with a mild cognitive impairment or other memory loss. Sessions are available across North, South and West Dorset and virtually.
Our seated exercise classes are fun and enjoyable.
They are designed to improve confidence, increase stability, improve mobility, posture and balance, strengthen muscles, and most importantly help prevent falls and lessen the impact a fall can have on the body.
We have team of dedicated volunteers throughout North, South and West Dorset. Contact us, as there may be a member of the team in your community able to assist with those 'odd jobs'.
Call us on 01305 269 444 and let us know what help you need, if we can help, we will.
We're thrilled to be back meeting face-to-face again and have a range of social activities for you to get involved with.
What's more, owing to their popularity through the pandemic, we are also still offering virtual gatherings.
From art classes to coffee mornings, there's lots going on!
We have a Handy Person Service operating in Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport. Our Handyperson Team members are fully insured and DBS checked and can help with those tasks around the home that many trades say are too small. From fixing taps to fitting key safes, and nearly everything in-between
Our aim with this guide is to bring information together, so you and your family can have a useful reference booklet that you can pick up as and when you need to.

Age UK North, South and West Dorset are providing tailored packages to support individuals over the age of 50 who are isolating or isolated. Whilst the legal restrictions around COVID isolation are changing, we recognise that there are many reasons individuals are isolated and that not everyone needs the same
support. The service will aim to ensure that feelings of isolation, worry and suffering are minimised, whilst providing support to increase wellbeing and recognition of the local support network.

Our New Head Office
Having left our beloved Rowan Cottage in 2021, we're pleased to announce that we have now moved into our new Head Office at 5 Crown Square, Poundbury, DT1 3EN.
This smaller, and purpose-built office space will be home to many of our team members including our Senior Leadership Team, and functions such as Finance, HR, and the management and administrative teams supporting our various service lines.
Our Handyperson Service is now running in Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport. We can't do jobs that require a qualified tradesman such as electrical, plumbing or central heating, but we can help with small practical tasks in your home, to keep you safe and secure.
If like many you're starting a Spring project, but need a little help then we may be able to help!
Call us on 01305 269 444 for more information.
