Below is our range of services brought to you by our dedicated and caring team of advisors, support workers,volunteers and supporters.

  • I need my toenails clipping

    Good nail care can help to keep feet feeling comfortable.
    If you’re struggling to cut your own nails we offer a toenail-cutting service.

    This service operates from a number of clinics across North, South and West Dorset. Contact the team for more information or to book your free assessment.

  • I need some Information & advice

    Growing older can bring about many changes in our lives, with decisions needing to be made and questions raised that we have never considered before. Just because things may be different, they should not become a barrier to you getting the most out of life. We offer a free information and advice service to those over 55, their carers and family members.

  • I need some help at home.

    Finding it hard to do the things you always used to do around the home?
    Our team can provide a range of services such as shopping, light domestic cleaning, changing bed linen, laundry and ironing, basic IT support, help with making appointments or phone calls along with some social interaction and companionship.

  • Shop with us

    We have stores in Dorchester, Weymouth and Bridport, alongside online retail through Facebook marketplace and our very own eBay shop. We pride ourselves in bringing quality new, and pre-loved items, and sustainable fashion to your High Street.

    Grab yourself a bargain, and help us continue our work in the community.

  • I need help with just one small task

    We have team of dedicated volunteers throughout North, South and West Dorset. Contact us, as there may be a member of the team in your community able to assist with those 'odd jobs'.

  • Our Social Activities

    We're thrilled to be back meeting face-to-face again and have a range of social activities for you to get involved with.

    What's more, owing to their popularity through the pandemic, we are also still offering virtual gatherings.

    From art classes to coffee mornings, there's lots going on.

  • I want some help to keep active

    Our better balance classes are fun and enjoyable. They are designed to improve confidence, increase stability, improve mobility, posture and balance, strengthen muscles, and most importantly help prevent falls and lessen the impact a fall can have on the body. 

    Virtual classes are also still available

  • I need some support with my memory loss

    Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is a proven and recognised programme of group activity and stimulation used to treat memory loss.

    We offer therapy to those with a diagnosis of Dementia, and those with a mild cognitive impairment or other memory loss.
    Sessions are available across North, South and West Dorset and virtually.

  • I need help getting online

    We are living in a digital age, more and more people are staying in contact with familiy and friends through social media platforms such Facebook. Learn about computers, tablets, and smart phones with our friendly tutors.

  • I want to donate items for your Charity Shops

    We are grateful for the support and donations of household items, clothing, games and other items to our charity shops. You can bring items to one of our shops and we will collect them and take them to our warehouse ready for resale. Unfortunately, we cannot accept electrical items. Call us for more information.

  • I want to fundraise for you

    You can set up your own fundraising event, or join one of our many planned events including sky-dives, wing walking, coastal hikes and much more!

    Our aim with this guide is to bring information together, so you and your family can have a useful reference booklet that you can pick up as and when you need to.
    This directory features information about the services that Age UK North, South & West Dorset provides, and how we are working to achieve our aims. This directory has been designed to take you through some common considerations and can be kept as a useful reference guide.

    With our increased capacity, we are pleased to announce that we can take on new Home Support customers from Central Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport, Swanage and Corfe, Sherborne, and Blandford.

  • Working in Partnership

    We have entered a formal partnership with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to provide additional support to elderly and vulnerable residents in the community.
    At Age UK NSWD we believe that Dorset is a great place for older people to live. We are therefore proud to be working alongside Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service as they, like us, value older people and want them to live safely in their homes. We look forward to working with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to make a noticeable difference to the safety of the people we are here to support.

  • Tickets now on Sale!

    Given the past 12 months, you'll hopefully forgive us for wanting to plan this early...

    Tickets are now on sale for this year's Black Tie event. The event will take place at the Weymouth Pavilion on Friday, November 26th.

    Tables of 10 are priced at £550 (individual tickets are available at £55 each). This includes drinks on arrival, 3 course meal, and entertainment throughout.
