Information and Advice - Margate
Our service can help with a variety of issues including:
- Understanding allowances and benefits
- Help with completing claim forms
- Housing and community care issues
The service is provided at our Community Hub from Monday to Thursday.
Opening hours are from 9.00am - 4.30pm.

Age UK Thanet provides a range of information guides to help you deal with some of the challenges faced in later life.
You can pick up Age UK's guides which are placed in our Reception area, if we do not have your choice of guide we will order them for you.

Ageless Thanet Life Planning
Tel 01843 808685 Provides help and support to help you through changes in your life such as bereavement, redundancy, retirement, changes in financial sitution, becoming a carer, health issues etc.
Tel 01304 364637 Carers Support offer a listening ear and can provide information and support for carers. They have a range of drop in sessions, coffee mornings, activities and training courses available to Carers.
Care Navigator Service
Tel 0300 302 0178 A free impartial service aimed at people over the age of 50 who need help to get linked to extra support in their local area. Help and advice can include: Benefit information, housing choices, care services options and information about social activities in your area
Citizens Advice Bureau
Offering impartial advice on a wide range of issues, such as benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer, relationship breakdown and much more. Citizens advise can currently only be contacted by sending an email to: email@example.com
Citizens Rights for Older People (CROP)
Tel 01622 851200 A free and independent advocacy service to help older people to secure services and rights to which they are entitled. Crop advocates can visit you at home in hospital or in residential care. The advocates can help with writing letters, making phone calls, lodging complaints, sorting out finances, completing benefit forms and more.
East Kent Independent Dementia Support (EKIDS)
Tel 01227 730000 EKIDS is an Independent Group run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers who have experience with dementia care and offer support to those living with dementia and their carers.
Hi Kent Hearing
Tel 01227 760046 For assistance with hearing aids, adaption telephones, televisions etc. Hi Kent runs free hearing aid aftercare clinics in towns, villages and communities throughout Kent. Hi Kent also attend Age UK Thanet's Community Hub on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month between 11am and 12pm and on the third Monday of each month between 2pm and 3pm.
Hope provides a free service for people of all ablilities, whether to help support family members, friends and carers who can become overwhelmed with taking care of a disabled loved one or someone who is struggling with supporting their families. Thanet Community Support Partnership
Tel 01843 609334 Thanet Community Support Partnership provides a one stop shop to help older people living in Thanet gain access to the services they need. They offer a referrals service, befriending, volunteer transport scheme and much more.
Thanet Community Transport Association (TCTA)
Tel 01843 602030 A door to door service for disabled and elderly individuals, typically used for medical appointments, shopping trips, days out and holidays.
It is well documented that each year older adults are missing out on benefits they are entitled to, keeping them and their family in poverty.
