Scam phone calls continue to rise

The latest figures from the National Trading Standards Scams Team, show that scam and nuisance phone calls continue to rise.
The number one scam call by far is that of people pretending to be from well-known white goods and boiler insurance companies stating that the receivers' insurance is up for renewal and payment needs to be made.
Other scams include:
- Calls claming to be Microsoft asking for access to computers
- Netflix/Amazon prime scam asking for payment to carry on watching TV
- HMRC stating that tax is due
