Our Christmas Appeal

No one should feel forgotten at Christmas. But for hundreds of older people in our community, this feels like their reality. This winter, we have a waiting list of people who would like a Befriender but without the help our community, we’re struggling to help them. With a donation or a pledge to volunteer today, we can change this.

George visits Doreen every week, taking his dog Winslow too. Doreen’s family told us:

“This has been amazing for Doreen and us as a family. Doreen absolutely loves her weekly visits from George and (let’s not forget) Winslow, it improves her week greatly.”

George said visiting Doreen is the highlight of his week. In fact, he finds the experience so positive, he tells anyone who will listen. “No matter what type of day I have had, knowing I am going to see Doreen really lifts my spirits, we just chat like old friends. I honestly get such a buzz out of it.”
