Age UK Croydon’s Help at Home service provides practical support to enable people to continue to feel independent, safe and comfortable at home. This service is open to anyone resident in the London Borough of Croydon.
Our Home Helps are trained, with references taken and DBS checks performed. They can support you or someone you know with domestic tasks such as:
Help at Home can offer regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits for a minimum of one hour, and is available Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. We cannot undertake personal care tasks such as bathing, feeding or administering medication. We are also currently unable to escort clients.
What happens next?
Any questions or queries you have regarding the service can be answered by one of our members of staff or volunteers by contacting 020 8683 7120. If you feel the service is right for you or someone you know, you can book an appointment for a home assessment.
The home assessment is carried out by a trained Age UK Croydon staff member, and will take you and/or the person receiving the service through exactly what Help at Home can provide, how the service works and whether it is right for you or someone you know.
Once an assessment has been carried out at your home, a home help will be assigned to carry out regular visits. Wherever possible, we aim to keep staff members consistent from visit to visit. The cost for the service is £16.50 per hour, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or standing order. Invoices are posted or emailed monthly in arrears.
Any profits generated are used to support Age UK Croydon’s charitable work.
