Living Well in Later Life Manager

Are you a strategic thinker with the drive to design and deliver impactful services for older people? Do you excel at leading complex projects from concept to completion? Age UK Devon is looking for an experienced and innovative Living Well in Later Life Manager to lead our community‑based activity workstream and help shape the future of our outreach work across the county.
About the role
This is a strategic leadership position, responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a diverse range of activities that promote health, wellbeing, social connection, and independence for older people.
You will:
- Lead the strategic development of our Living Well in Later Life workstream, ensuring services reflect community needs and align with organisational priorities.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end project management of multiple programmes, from research and design through to delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, co‑production, and partnership working.
- Manage and motivate staff and volunteers to deliver high‑quality, inclusive, and impactful activities.
- Relaunch and grow key initiatives such as Sow & Grow and Budleigh Salterton’s Chatty Cafe, while also developing new services shaped by local demand.

- Strong project management skills: including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, monitoring impact, and delivering projects on time.
- A creative, solutions‑focused mindset: with the confidence to pilot new ideas and lead service development.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills: with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
- A genuine interest in improving the lives of older people.
