Ready, Steady Knit!

We’re nearly there!

Age UK have once again teamed up with Innocent Drinks to encourage crafters to knit and crochet little hats to adorn smoothie bottles. As well as raising a smile, each hat knitted raises 30p for Age UK Gloucestershire and every penny will go towards helping older people in our communities across Gloucestershire when they need us most.

So many local knitters have joined us in creating these tiny hats which means that together we can make a big impact by continuing to deliver much needed advice, guidance and support.

In January we pledged to make 7,000 hats, and thanks to all the wonderful crafters across Gloucestershire, we reached our original target of 7,000 a few weeks ago and now we’re getting close to our new target of 10,000 hats!

We need your hats by 1st July

This year’s Big Knit is coming to an end, so please send your completed hats to us by 1st July 2025 at this address: Age UK Gloucestershire, Henley House, Barnett Way, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3RT. Or, email supporters@ageukgloucestershire.org.uk to find out other ways to get them to us.

There’s still time to craft a few more hats

Whether you’re a knitting newbie or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to join in and support our campaign. There are so many designs to try, from a simple bobble hat to the trickier “Sir Hopsalot” and if you really want a challenge there’s the “Really Flashy Bird”.
